The company "Elaiones of Chalkidiki" commenced its activity in 1996. Today, on the 700 hecatres of its olive groves, in the area of Kalives - Gerakini of chalkidiki, 12.000 olive trees are being cultivated, the 90% of which is of Chalkidiki type. The rest 10% comprises of olive trees of the "Kalamata" and "Amfissa" olive types.
The cultivation is realised by the integrated crop management system and it targets to the production of edible olives.
The olive fruit, after its collection from the olive trees and its placement into trasportation boxes, is concentrated into the privately owned installation in the olive groves and it is carried to the factory for farther elaboration. Since 2000 in the region of Thessaloniki, the factory where the fresh olives are elaborated and classified by size, sorted per quality and packed in various pots or plastic barrels and they are directly disposed to the market, works successfully.
In that way the triptych "PRODUCTION - ELABORATION - TRADING" is completed by the same company.
